Medical Skin Needling

Skin needling is a “medically engineered” treatment used to revitalize the skin using a device that uses microscopic needles to essentially renew the deep layers of the skin.

This treatment dates to the 1990’s and has been derived from techniques used during ancient acupuncture along with more recent Mesotherapy practice. The punctures in the skin have always been used to encourage a natural response from the skin that allows it to refresh itself and discharge collagen and elastin fibers.

• More even skin tone
• Decrease in wrinkles, sun damage, acne and scarring as well as enlarged pores
• Firmer skin
• Revitalised skin

This procedure is ideal for those who suffer from acne, ageing, scarring and pigmentation however it is not limited to these skin conditions only.

Frequently asked questions

Does skin needling actually work?

According to a 2009 study, almost 100 percent of micro-needling participants reported a noticeable difference and vast improvement in the appearance of their acne scars after a treatment.

Does skin needling hurt?

Anaesthetic is used to reduce the level of discomfort during the treatment however little pain should be felt proceeding the treatment. Some redness may be visible for the first 24 to 48 hours however people can continue activities straight away.

How effective is skin needling?

Skin needling is considered effective in treating minor scarring related to acne, wounds, and aging, with many also noticing brighter and firmer skin. Ideal results are achieved after multiple sessions. Microneedling is far more effective than at-home rollers.
