Skin Checks

If you have a suspicious looking mole, are concerned about the amount of sun exposure you have had in the past, or want to be proactive about your skin health on a regular basis; a skin check with one of our trained and experienced Melanographers can provide you peace of mind about the well-being of your skin.

Efficient, Thorough Skin Checks from Trusted Professionals

The skin check is a thorough and comprehensive examination of the skin by our certified Dermatoscopist’s who will advise about any abnormal skin lesions on the patient’s skin. This skin check is performed in clinic and aids in time efficiency and ease for patients attending their other appointments. Skin care advice for ultimate skin protection will also be provided.

If further treatment is needed, the patient will be given a recommendation letter which they may take to their own doctor for future management. In a critical situation, we will discuss expedited specialist treatment with the patient.

Advanced Laser Clinic maintains strict clinician-patient confidentiality and will not share any personal information about the findings of the skin check.

Do you know what skin cancer looks like?

We do. It is recommended by the Cancer Council of Australia that you become familiar with the look of your skin so you can detect any changes. These changes are difficult to assess, therefore, it is essential to have your skin checked regularly by a skin cancer detection specialist who may assist in identifying suspicious lesions early.

You can’t see everything
Having a skin check means you can screen key areas of your body that you don’t necessarily have easy visual access to - for example your back.

Why skin checks are important?
By using a Dermatoscope, we can view structures below the surface of the skin that are invisible to the naked eye. This helps in detecting possible skin cancers at an early stage.
